Okay, it's official! Volkswagen wants to enter the WRC. And that, in the FrankfurtMotor Show 2011, VAG group presents the new Polo R WRC, a car specifically designed for World Rally Championship.
What led him to be those of Volkswagen to enter the WRC? Well first of all, changing FIA regulations for the 2011-2012 season, which says that the cars must have a 1.6-liter turbo engine with direct injection to support the trend to minimizecosts ECO and rally teams. It was expected that the new Beetle to receive a top bearing the logo version of R.Even though there are now 200 hp turbo engines, it seems that the concept shownat Frankfurt Motor Show to announce a more powerful version of the will have 260 hp or more.
A Beetle 200 hp is fast, but apparently not enough ... Since the announcement ofnext-generation Beetle, speculated thoughts were eager to create a versionbearing the logo of R. Inside, the Beetle R Concept has a pair of sport seats upholstered withNappa leather, while the board and various elements are painted all black "gloss",which is more in Romanian, shiny ... And as a last touch sports, we find aluminumpedals and various clocks that do not meet the regular versions.
And finally, reach under the hood. It seems that here they will find there the same2.0-liter TFSI engine from the Golf and Scirocco R R 270 currently producing 265 hp respectively.
